An Artist Statement:

JUST BREATHE, IN DEEP EASE..................

In nonferrous metals I build long term solutions for living graciously in a plastic world. I have been forming, etching and patinating metals into art for the past 30 years. I like to take the mundane in everyday objects and pay respect to their marvelous functions. That is why I presently work in switch plates, doorbells, and dimmers; to honor the beauty of the small things in our lives.

 I feel very good about the quality and sensibility of my work as an expression of my obsession to create and live in beauty.
For this I give thanks....

About the Artist:

Kevin Loughran was born in 1948 in Lancaster, New Hampshire.
He lives and works in Gaviota, California, near Santa Barbara.
He attended Dartmouth College, Sculpture Studies (1967); Waseda University, Koku-sai-bu, Tokyo (1968-69);           Graduated:Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, (BA, History, 1975).

Kevin usually shows at the weekly Santa Barbara Sunday Beach Arts & Crafts Show, a very nice place to spend time.Come on by and say hi,and see whats new and good.
